Your Strength, Your Journey
Meet Krysten
Hi, I’m Krysten—a Registered Psychotherapist and a firm believer in the power of human resilience. I know that seeking therapy can feel like a big step, and I want you to know that you’re not alone in this journey. Whether you’re here for yourself or your child, my goal is to help you feel seen, valued, and supported in a space where you can truly be yourself.
My Story and approach
I became a therapist because I knew I wanted to help others who were going through what I went through. My personal experiences with mental health led me to this path, and a first-year psychology course in my undergraduate studies solidified my passion for this work.
I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression at 14 and later bipolar disorder at 26. While everyone’s story is unique, I bring lived experience to my work, which sets me apart from many therapists. I understand firsthand the challenges of navigating Ontario’s mental health system and can connect my clients with valuable resources. I am continuously learning, reading, attending trainings, and engaging in professional development to ensure I bring the best of myself to each session.
Therapeutic Approach
Therapeutic Approach
I take a holistic approach to therapy, viewing each client as a whole person—mind and body—rather than a collection of symptoms. I believe in the power of a strong therapeutic alliance, where trust, warmth, and honesty create a foundation for meaningful progress. My approach is collaborative, empowering, and personalized to your needs.
I integrate evidence-based therapies, including:
